Our Mission
To conserve the Cranberry Lake property for community education. Education is based on sustainable forest management activities and ongoing research (academic and performed on site) showing the compatibility of sound forest stewardship practices with other practices (residential and community based) and their effect on, or contribution to, a sustainably functioning and healthy watershed environment.
To provide facilities for broad-based education and research on sustainably functioning and healthy forest environments, illustrating the compatibility of sound forestry practices with protection of clean water, flora and fauna.
It was the hope of Kenny Frank, who founded the Cranberry Lake Foundation in 1983, that this forest could demonstrate that forest management and environmental protection can go hand-in-hand.
